In 1997 Fred Taylor was the Florida Gators’ leading rusher with 1 292 yards on 214 carries and scored 13 touchdowns. His teammates chose him as their most valuable player and he finished his college career ranked fourth in school history with 3 075 yards and 31 touchdowns. In the 1998 NFL Draft Taylor was drafted ninth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of his career highs as a matter of fact was during his rookie year as a Jags player rushing for 1 223 yards and 14 touchdowns. The following year he made a 90 yard touchdown run which was recorded as the longest run in playoff history and in 2000 he finished sixth in the NFL with 1 399 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
